Colonial bar windows were great in their day, but they’re such a huge maintenance moneypit these days plus they’re annoying to look through and a beast to clean.
This Beaumaris home was only built in 1980 so not exactly colonial era; more of a Hamptons style with busy windows. The clean, modern lines of the aluminium double-glazed awning windows has really brought this home into the 21st century.
The owners are thrilled with the newly revealed view and the influx of light. Feeling it was $4.5K well invested, they’re now moving on to stages 2 and 3 – the rest of the house!
